SWA Strength and Throwing Program

Service Description

- Six Week Program - Three 2-hour Sessions per week starting December 8th - Each session will be be comprised of the following components: Warmup / Activation - Focus will be on priming the body to move correctly when throwing. Exercises will target stability, mobility, and activation for the parts of the body that need each. Throwing Program - Weeks one and two will start to build throwing volume with long toss. Weeks 3-6 will introduce plyometric work, flat-grounds, and eventually bullpens for pitchers. Recovery from Throwing - Exercises to focus on endurance and proprioception to maintain strength and protection throughout the season Med Ball and Movement - Targeting explosive movements with light weight or resistance. Bridging the gap between our heavier weight training and the movements needed to compete in a baseball game (throwing a 5oz baseball or swinging a 30oz bat) Weight Training - Introducing compound movements in promote stability and strength in positions common to playing baseball. Including core work to target anti-rotation and anti-extension strength needed to throw and swing harder.
